Send Plain Text Emails Instead of HTML Emails

Note: You need to have version 200205 or newer for this to work.

If you want StCR to send out plain text emails instead of HTML emails head over to WP Admin > StCR > Options and set the “Enable HTML Emails” to “No”.

Now go to WP admin > StCR > Notifications.

That is where you can change the contents of the email messages. By default they contain HTML and you need to remove it.

For each of the options, in the top right corner you will see tab switches called “Visual” and “Text”. If “Visual” is enabled switch it to “Text” so you can write plain text and remove HTML code.

Below are suggested values for the options (basically just the defaults with HTML removed):

Notification Message

There is a new comment on [post_title].

Comment link: [comment_permalink]
Author: [comment_author]

Comment:
[comment_content]

Permalink: [post_permalink]
Manage your subscriptions: [manager_link]
One click unsubscribe: [oneclick_link]

Double check message

You have requested to be notified every time a new comment is added to:
[post_permalink]

Please confirm your request by clicking on this link:
[confirm_link]

Management Page Message

Keep this as is, it’s a message shown on the website itself, not as part of an email.

Management Email Message

You have requested to manage your subscriptions to the articles on [blog_name]. Follow this link to access your personal page:
[manager_link]

One click unsubscribe

You are no longer subscribed to the post:
[post_title]

That’s all, the emails will now be sent out in plain text with no HTML.
